How To Prepare For Your Massage or Spa Service

Take A Warm Shower
Warm water will allow your mind & body to relax and be open to receive your service receiving massage. By cleaning your body prior to a massage, you can also mitigate some personal hygiene insecurities, if you have any, plus it is greatly appreciated by your massage therapist. Finally, a shower also allows you an opportunity to check in with your body. If you have bruises, sore muscles, cuts, or blisters, this will be important to communicate with your therapist.

Remove Jewelry
Some jewelry that you should consider taking off before a massage can include: necklace, chains, large earrings, bracelets, rings. If you’re getting a neck or shoulder massage, you should remove jewelry such as any chains / necklaces and depending on if your earrings are large or could possibly get in the way.

Avoid Perfumes
A spritz of cologne or perfume is a normal habit but in a massage room it can be overpowering when combined with the massage cream, aromatherapy, and a small space. For the comfort of our clients and therapists, we ask that our clients please refrain from these prior to your appointment. Deodorant, however, is encouraged.

Limit Personal Items
We ask that our clients keep large and personal items to a minimum. We have an designated area for outerwear, clothing and purses. Large items are requested to be left at home, if possible or in your car. To keep our space clear, we appreciate your help.

No Additional Guest
At this time we do not allow additional guest to accompany our clients in our studio during services. Please be mindful that if an additional guest is present, we will need to cancel your appointment. If your appointment is cancelled, it will follow under the late cancellation policy.

Mindful Touch Policies & Waivers

24 Hour Cancellation Policy
We are a small business, and fill up fast! That's why we have a 24-hour cancellation policy, we rely on our clients to let us know in advance if they can't make their scheduled appointment. In the event of a late cancel or no-show, clients forfeit their deposit (deposits are non-refundable). To cancel, change, or reschedule your appointment, please log in to your account and request a new appointment date or send us a text to 301-674-2419. Please note that "not confirming" does not equal a cancellation. You must contact us either by calling, leaving a voice message, or texting us directly in order to cancel/change your appointment.

We do understand that life happen, and we don't want to add any extra stress to your already stressful life, so we want to thank you in advance for understanding that when you cancel late or miss an appointment,  our clients are unable to receive a service for the time that we had set aside to dedicate specifically to you.

There are exceptions to the rule -- if your are feeling sick, we want you to stay home! We will waive our cancellation fee if you let us know ASAP that you're not feeling well. Please call as soon as you are feeling unwell, do not call right before your appointment, calling last minute WILL result in a cancellation fee. We do no offer refunds for any paid service.

Late Cancel/No Call-No Show: Late cancellations and No Call, No Show appointments can be rescheduled. If you pre-paid for your service, the deposit amount of 50% will be deducted from the balance remaining. The remaining balance will be applied to your next appointment and the full balance will be required to reschedule.

If you purchased a package, there is a $30 rescheduling fee for your first missed appointment. Late cancel or No Call - No Show after the first incident will result in the lose of the session.

We do send out automated reminders by email or text (or both) depending on your preference, so you'll get a reminder the day before your massage. However, technology isn't always 100% reliable so it is ultimately your responsibility to write down your appointment in your calendar and contact us if you need to cancel or reschedule! If you have questions, that's what we're here for, so feel free to reach out anytime for clarification.

Late Arrival Policy
Please arrive on time for your appointment. You can remain in your car until the therapist sends you a notification to come in for your service. We understand that issues can arise that may cause you to be late for your appointment. However, we ask that you text to inform us if this ever occurs so we can do our best to accommodate you. We may be unable to answer your call if we are with a client.  Appointment times are reserved for each client, so oftentimes we cannot exceed that reserved time without making the next client late.

For this reason, arriving  15 minutes after your appointment can result in a cancellation of your appointment or loss of time from your service to ensure your  session ends at the scheduled time. Full service fees will be charged even when sessions are shortened due to late arrival.

Inappropriate Behavior Policy
Massage therapy and Body Work is for relaxation, therapeutic and cosmetic purposes only. There is absolutely no sexual component to massage whatsoever. Any insinuation, joke, gesture, conversation, or request otherwise will result in immediate termination of your session and a refusal of any and all services in the future. You will be charged the full service fee regardless of the length of your session. Depending on the behavior exhibited we may also file a report with the local authorities if necessary. Treat your therapist with respect and dignity and you will be treated the same in return.
